Picket fence and gate
Project Brief:
For this job the customer was wanting to remove the unsightly brick pillars/fence to be replaced with a nice picket fence to not only tidy up the frontage of the property look but also to complement the look required for the area. A new gate was also required.
The project required strong attention to detail, a lot of preparation along with careful and a high standard of work to ensure the outcome was met and finished to a high standard.

What we did to meet the objectives:
- Removed the old brick pillars and set the new posts. The posts had to be attached to the mortar foundation at either end due to services and utilities running underneath.
- Determine the gradient of the ground then get the fence sitting as close to the ground as possible
- Attach the railings and pickets with accurate cuts and paying attention to levels and spacing as we worked
- Additional concreting work, such as widening the path, a small retaining wall at the far right end to help with retaining the soil and drainage and also a small run of concrete under the far left of the fence in order to minimise the gap between the footpath and the fence.
- Finally preparation and painting to give the pickets nice even coats of paint while keeping the paint off of the concrete and house
