Plant supply and installation to refresh, improve or transform your outdoor space.
Good planting can completely change the feel of a garden, but plant choice and placement matter.
We help with plant selection, supply and installation so your garden looks good and has the best chance of establishing well.
Request a Free QuoteA "shade tolerant" label on a nursery tag is only the start. Light level is one factor — soil, drainage, root competition from established trees, wind exposure and how deep the shade really is all decide whether a plant thrives or sulks. Plenty of failed plantings were the right plant for the label and the wrong plant for the spot.
We start with the goal — privacy, colour, structure, screening, lower maintenance — then recommend plants we have seen succeed in similar Auckland conditions, at the mature size and spacing the space actually needs. Screening height, hedge spacing and which plants combine well are decisions worth getting right once, at planting time.
Where a planting succeeds or fails is often decided before it goes in the ground: nursery plant quality varies a lot, and a stressed or root-bound plant starts life behind. We source healthy plants from nurseries we trust and know what good stock looks like.
Size-wise, we install everything from small annuals and groundcovers up to large 52, 60 and 80 litre specimen plants — the grade that gives instant structure or screening rather than a five-year wait.
How a plant goes in matters as much as which plant it is. We prepare the soil properly, backfill with quality garden mix, apply suitable liquid and granular feeds to support establishment, and stake plants where wind exposure requires it.
Timing counts too: subtropical and cold-sensitive plants go in when the season is right for them, not just when it is convenient. It is the difference between a planting that establishes strongly and one that spends its first year struggling.
Even the best-chosen, best-planted garden needs establishment care — watering through the first summer, feeding, and a check that everything is settling in. "Low maintenance" never means no maintenance.
Many clients have us handle that through regular maintenance visits, so the new planting gets watched and cared for by the people who chose and planted it.
Yes. We source healthy plants from trusted nurseries, matched to your goal and your site's conditions. Plants and materials are quoted separately from the labour, so you can see exactly what is what.
Everything from small annuals and groundcovers up to large 52, 60 and 80 litre specimen plants. Larger grades give instant structure or screening; smaller grades establish faster — we will recommend the right mix for the result you want.
It depends on the plant. Much of the year works for hardy stock in Auckland, but subtropical and cold-sensitive plants should go in when the season suits them. Where timing matters, we schedule the planting for the right window rather than rushing it.
By stacking the odds: the right plant for the spot, healthy nursery stock, proper soil preparation with quality garden mix, feeding at planting, staking where it is windy, and sensible timing. Establishment care afterwards — especially watering through the first summer — does the rest.
Yes. Tell us the goal — privacy, colour, structure, less maintenance — and we will put together a planting plan with plants proven in similar conditions, at spacings that suit their mature size. This works for a single bed or a whole section.
We do both. Bed preparation, soil improvement and mulching come under our soft landscaping service, and planting is often part of a wider refresh — one team, one plan.
